Courtney Deane grew up in Ontario, California, where she attended Catholic school through high school. She holds bachelors’ degrees in English and sociology from UC Irvine, as well as a master’s in journalism from USC. For the last fifteen years, she has worked full time as a freelance writer for print, digital, and broadcast entities, in addition to serving a variety of PR and marketing clients. A lover of fitness and the outdoors, Courtney runs and practices yoga and loves going on long hikes and beach walks with her husband and their two-year-old daughter. Like her protagonist, Abigail, she lost her own parents far too early. When Happily Ever After Fails is Courtney’s debut novel (but will not be her last!).
