Waiting for the new season of your favorite shows can be excruciating. If you’re a fan of TV Land’s Younger, than we feel your pain. Fortunately, in a show that takes place largely in the publishing world, there are dozens of book references, so if you’re craving a little more Younger, you can always do a bit of reading to continue the fun.

Younger by Pamela Redmond Stran

Did you know that Younger was actually based on a book? While the details are a bit different—Liza’s name is Alice in the book, they think she’s 29 to start off with, not 26, etc.—the heart of the story is still there. What better way to satiate your craving than reading the source material?

Marriage Vacation by Pauline Turner Brooks

In case you forgot, Marriage Vacationis the book Charles’s wife wrote in the show that became a bestseller. Well, they made the book in real life. Reviews say that it’s a must-read for fans of the show and that it will give you way deeper insight into both Pauline as a character and her relationship with Charles.

H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald

Remember how Diana was working really hard on a campaign for P is for Pigeon, which eventually becomes a literary sleeper hit? P is for Pigeon is an obvious nod to H is for Hawk, a New York Times bestseller right around the time the show was being filmed. If your reading tastes are more literary, this one’s for you.

Tattoo Art Coloring Book by Lark Crafts

Liza and Kelsey commission Josh to do a tattoo art coloring book. Although we have yet to see the fruits of these labors in the show, we can imagine it would look a little something like this. Why not hop on the trend of adult coloring books while you wait for the next season?

Thanks, Obama by David Litt

In the most recent season of Younger, Kelsey and Zane compete to get their hands on the new memoir from Obama’s former speechwriter, Jake. Jake decides to sign—if he can have them both as his editors. Jake seems a bit young to be a speechwriter starting all the way back with Obama’s campaign in 2008. He must have started right out of college, just like David Litt did, as one of the youngest White House speechwriters in history.

Musings from a Dog… by Christine Kern

The book that Liza was blackmailed into signing—and subsequently has to rewrite herself—wasn’t based on any book in particular. But if that book—the one that made a name for Millennial—sounded appealing, then this book is about as close as you’re going to find. This little gift book is full of funny thoughts a dog might have.

A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin

The team behind Younger has openly acknowledged that George R. R. Martin was the jumping off point when creating the character of Edward L. L. Moore. They’re both cash cow authors with epic fantasy series featuring a warrior princess. They even cast Richard Masur, who looks like Martin, to play Moore. Fortunately, Martin is much less creepy than the fictional Moore, who is accused of sexual harassment by multiple women, including Liza.

The Defining Decade by Meg Jay, PhD

The Defining Decade’s in-world counterpart, The Deciding Decade had a multi-episode arc involving Liza’s secret. Liza came clean and told Dr. Jane Wray, the author, that she’s 40 and pretending to be 26, and Wray agreed to be published with Millennial if she could write a chapter about Liza. That chapter ended up being the one people were interested in, but since Liza wouldn’t reveal herself, the book underperformed.
