The era of book-to-screen adaptations is upon us. With so many of our books turning into movies and TV shows, we can easily binge-watch for hours and see some characters come to life. However, once they end, it’s time to pick up a new book to fall in love with. Here are some books that will remind you of your favorite stories!

If you watched Daisy Jones and The Six, read The Frontman by Ron Bahar 

Daisy Jones is the “it girl” of the 70s music scene in the Amazon Prime TV show. Singing alongside Billy Dunne as the band’s frontman, these actors capture the essence of rock and roll during that time. The Frontman by Ron Bahar will give you more “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” in this fictionalized memoir coming-of-age story of love and fidelity. Set in Nebraska, 17-year-old Ron Bahar has to choose between medicine and music and his relationship or pleasing his immigrant parents. You’ll find similarities between Daisy, Billy, and Ron in their love of music and handling tough decisions that affect their future. 

If you watched Lockwood & Co, read The Hairbrush and the Shoe by Jeanne D. Stanton

The three ghost-hunting teens of the Lockwood & Co agency would absolutely love to be a part of Jeanne D. Stanton’s search for proof of a ghost in her family’s 150-year-old townhouse. Though Stanton does not possess magical ghost-locating abilities, one could argue that her intense research and dedication, such as spending a sleepless night in a haunted bedroom and creeping along the edges of rooms in search of cold spots, would make her a perfect asset to Lockwood & Co. Are you brave enough to read about real-world ghosts? 

If you watched Shadow and Bone, read Reign Returned by Katie Keridan

The second season of Shadow and Bone was just released. We got to see Alina’s continued search for the amplifiers to strengthen her Grisha powers, take down the Shadow Fold, and defeat the Darkling. If all of those words made sense to you, then you will enjoy The Felserpent Chronicles. Just like Shadow and Bone, the world-building is magnificent and filled with an assortment of characters you will love.

In the movie, you watched a thrilling and suspenseful story take place with an FBI agent fighting a deadly conspiracy involving a mole at the White House. In The Gray Bird of Baghdad, you will read a true story about an ex-Secret Service agent finding Iraqi microbiologist Thamer Abdul Rahman Imran to stop a biological attack on the United States. The setting spans from the White House to the Middle East in this gripping race against time.
